Points

       15 points total are required from each members over the year. 10 of these points must be earned by participation in Beta Club events in the form of "Beta points". The other 5 points may be a combination of Beta points and non-club points (hours done outside of the group).
In order to stay in good standing, members must earn 6 of the 15 total by the end of the 1st semester, and 2 of those points must be Beta points.


       There are point penalties for absences to meetings. BETA Club members will only be allowed 1 unexcused absence per month. A form will be required for this (just a letter of why you cannot attend the meeting). Every meeting after that, excused or unexcused, will be a penalty of 1 point added to the total amount of points required for BETA members. So for example, if you already have used your allowed absence of the semester every meeting after that point that you fail to attend adds to your total required points. Instead of owing 15 points, now you owe 16 points. 

 

The policy is 1 hour worked = 1 point earned. For each event/activity worked, the maximum amount of points a member can earn is 3 Beta points and 5 non-Beta points. Members will be required to sign in at all Beta Club activities, and fill out a form for each non-Beta activity.


Records of points will be kept on paper and can be checked and updated at our monthly meetings. All forms, as well as the chapter bylaws, can be found on the Documents page of this website.
